“NOLLEIG MHATH” PARTY

That’s “MERRY CHRISTMAS” to those of us who are unenlightened.

To kick off the holiday party season in a big way, join us for the Scottish Society’s annual CHRISTMAS PARTY, which will be held on Monday, 12 December 2016, at Banquet Halls of the Mid-South, located at 2758 Bartlett Blvd, Bartlett, TN — the same place as last year. If you are coming from I-40, exit at Sycamore view and go north. Sycamore View turns into Bartlett Blvd. If coming from US 64, turn south onto Bartlett Blvd. The banquet hall is located about a quarter mile south of US 64 in the center of a strip mall on the east side of the Bartlett Blvd. The doors open at 6:00 pm and the eating will begin soon afterward.

Please note that he party will be held on the same night as our normal December monthly meeting, so if you show up at Jason’s Deli, you will miss out on all the goodies.

As a special request, I ask that a few brave souls join Elaine Meece and me to decorate and set up. Just come about 5:00 pm, and we can make quick work of it, and have a good time while we’re at it!

There are several really good things about this year’s party: First and foremost, it is FREE! – That should ensure maximum attendance by us Scots!

Second, you don’t even have to prepare any complicated food dishes. The meat and drinks are provided by your Society. We ask only that each family bring a salad, side dish, or dessert.

Members, please bring:

  • A - G — appetizers
  • H- R — side dishes or casseroles
  • S - Z — desserts

Third, there will be plenty of entertainment, including a couple of participation events, e.g., sing-along with Sammy Rich and Joe Lyle, or try your hand (or feet) with the Scottish Country Dancers. There may even be a few pipers and drummers who will crash the party (free food, remember?).

Finally, The Marine Corps League will be taking up donations for their annual “Toys for Tots” campaign. If you wish to help out this worthy cause, they ask that you bring only new toys, preferably in their original packaging. Do not gift wrap them as the Marines have to see them so they can match the gifts to the recipients’ wish lists. Dick Bevier has graciously agreed to be the go-to guy for this.

If you have any questions or suggestions, call George Malone at 901-385-1938 or cell: 901-786-8013.

We’ll see you there. Nolleigh Mhath!
