“The Other William Wallace”

Presented by Mary Ann Lucas
Leave it to Mary Ann to find this colorful character, born William Alexander Anderson Wallace in 1817 in Lexington, Virginia. He achieved his fame in Texas during the state’s struggle for independence from Mexico. “Big Foot Wallace” survival to the age of 82 is a bit miraculous considering his desire to place himself in dangerous encounters time and time again. He is the inspiration for the American rugged frontiersman. His numerous escapades have evolved into our Lonesome Dove character. What an American Scotsman!!! Mary Ann invites all to the Heritage Tent at Clanjamfry to learn more about our Scottish-American ancestors whose contributions shaped our country and earned our freedom and democracy.
